Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of storyshelvesspryg.courses. By using the site you accept them.
1. Who we are
storyshelvesspryg.courses is published by Halyard Ridge Editorial Ltd, Unit 5, Cottrell Yard, 18 Marlpool Street, Redcliffe, Bristol BS1 6QN, United Kingdom. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean that company; "you" means the person using the site.
2. Use of the site
You may read, print and share the pages for your own personal, educational or internal business use. You agree not to use the site in any way that breaks the law, infringes anyone's rights, or interferes with its operation. In particular you must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its hosting, introduce malicious code, scrape or harvest content at a scale that burdens the service, or use automated systems to republish material without permission.
3. Editorial nature of the content
The site is a reference resource about lighthouse engineering, optics, signalling and administration. It is published for general information. It is not navigational guidance, engineering advice, legal advice or a substitute for official publications. Nothing on the site should be used for the navigation of any vessel or aircraft, or for any decision where safety depends on the accuracy of a light's character, range, position or status. For those purposes use current charts, the Admiralty List of Lights and Radio Signals and notices issued by the relevant authority.
4. Accuracy
We take care with what we publish and correct errors when they are pointed out. Even so, historical sources disagree, structures are altered, and administrative arrangements change. We give no warranty that the content is complete, current or free from error, and we may change or remove any page without notice.
5. Intellectual property
All text, drawings, diagrams, layout, code and design on this site are owned by Halyard Ridge Editorial Ltd or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. You may quote short extracts with a clear attribution and a link to the page. Any other reproduction, adaptation, redistribution or commercial use requires our prior written permission, which you can request at [email protected].
Names of organisations, vessels, stations and equipment mentioned on the site belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify and describe. Their use does not imply any association with, endorsement by or licence from those owners.
6. Material you send us
If you send us a correction, suggestion or other material, you confirm that you are entitled to send it and you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use it in the site's content. We are not obliged to publish, use or reply to anything you submit. Do not send confidential information.
7. Third-party links
Some pages link to external websites, including those of public bodies and publishers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. A link is not an endorsement.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the site available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Access may be suspended for maintenance, upgrades or reasons beyond our control. We may withdraw all or part of the site at any time.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded.
Subject to that, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill, data or anticipated savings arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site or its content. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the site is limited to one hundred pounds sterling.
If you are a consumer, these terms do not affect your statutory rights.
10. Indemnity
If you use the site in breach of these terms and that causes us loss, cost or a claim from a third party, you agree to reimburse us for reasonable losses and legal costs directly resulting from the breach.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the site without notice if we reasonably consider that you have breached these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — intellectual property, liability, indemnity and governing law — continue to apply.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them or the site are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your home jurisdiction. We encourage you to contact us first so that a dispute can be resolved informally.
13. Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms from time to time. The version published on this page at the time you use the site is the version that applies. Continued use after a change means you accept the amended terms.
