Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data storyshelvesspryg.courses collects, why, how long it is kept and what rights you have.
1. Who is responsible
Halyard Ridge Editorial Ltd publishes this website and is the data controller for personal data processed through it. Our registered office is Unit 5, Cottrell Yard, 18 Marlpool Street, Redcliffe, Bristol BS1 6QN, United Kingdom. Privacy enquiries should be sent to [email protected] with "Privacy" in the subject line.
2. What we collect
Information you send us. If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, your email address, the subject you select and the content of your message, together with anything else you choose to include.
Technical information. Our hosting provider records standard server log data when a page is requested: IP address, date and time, the page requested, HTTP status, referring page and browser user-agent string. These logs support security, fault diagnosis and abuse prevention.
Cookie and consent data. Your cookie choice is stored in your browser's local storage so the banner does not reappear on every page. Details are set out in our Cookie Policy.
We do not ask for financial details, we do not operate accounts or logins, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
3. Why we process it, and on what legal basis
- To answer enquiries. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, and your consent where you tick the form's consent box.
- To keep the site available and secure. Legal basis: legitimate interest in operating and protecting our own service.
- To measure how pages are used. Legal basis: consent, given through the cookie banner and withdrawable at any time.
- To meet legal obligations. Legal basis: compliance with law where retention or disclosure is required.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
Essential storage is used to remember your cookie choice and to keep the site functioning. Analytics and functional categories are only activated if you allow them in the banner. You can change or withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser and choosing again when the banner reappears. The full category table is in the Cookie Policy.
5. Sharing and processors
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. Personal data may be handled on our behalf by service providers acting under contract: our website hosting and content delivery provider, our email provider, and, where you have consented, an analytics provider. Each is bound to process data only on our instructions and to apply appropriate security measures.
We may disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
6. International transfers
Our providers may process data outside the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area. Where that happens, transfers are made under an adequacy decision or under appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses together with the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
7. Retention
Enquiry correspondence is kept for up to twenty-four months after the matter is closed, so that we can follow up on corrections and understand the history of a page. Server logs are kept for a short operational period, ordinarily not exceeding twelve months. Consent records are kept for as long as the consent is relied on, plus a short period afterwards as evidence. Anything no longer needed is deleted or anonymised.
8. Your rights
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018, and under the EU General Data Protection Regulation where it applies to you, you may request access to your personal data, correction of inaccurate data, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already carried out.
Residents of California may, under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended, request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information collected, request deletion or correction, and opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined in that Act. You will not be treated differently for exercising these rights.
To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We may ask for information to confirm your identity, and we will respond within the period required by the applicable law.
9. Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, contact us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the United Kingdom's supervisory authority, or to the supervisory authority in your country of residence within the European Economic Area.
10. Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection. Access to enquiry correspondence is limited to people who need it to reply. No method of transmission or storage is entirely secure, so please do not send sensitive personal information through the contact form.
11. Changes
We update this policy when our processing changes or when the law requires it. The current version is always published at this address, and material changes will be noted on this page.
